The goals continued to flow for Long Sutton.
After racking up ten against Cambridge City 4th a week earlier, they stuck six more past their derby rivals in East Men’s League Division Two North West.
A penalty corner broke the deadlock when Joshua Fyson tucked away a drag flick. Another penalty corner opportunity was dispatched by Fyson before McKenzie East drove at pace down the left and his cross found Daniel Batten to convert a third.
The home side added a goal on the half-time whistle but Josh Baker quickly restored the three-goal advantage after the interval and Sargeant converted the fifth before Fyson completed his hat-trick. East’s commanding midfield performance earned him the player of the match honours.

Honours finished even in Division Three North West, where goals from Troy Croxford and Will Taylor saw Sutton hit back from two goals down to earn a point.

Player of the match Lisa Baker scored the only goal of the game to earn victory in Division Two North West of the East Women’s League.

Goalkeeper Ellie Sandall was in solid form to earn the player of the match honours at the Division Five North West leaders.
The game could not have got off to a better start with Sutton winning a short corner almost straight from the push back. A good straight strike from Emma Grosvenor was saved but Katie Whittaker was on hand to slot home.
The hosts hit back hard but Sutton were in no mood to give their opponents an easy game and Sarah Skate, Julie Warby and captain Georgina Synnott were solid in defence.
South’s pressure did eventually yield an equaliser but Sutton hit back and grabbed a second-half winner from a short corner when a super strike from Grosvenor found the net.
