Park is set for new equipment

The updating of play equipment in Quadring is bringing the village together, the chairman of the parish council Andrew Jackson has said.

Last week it voted to go ahead and purchase the equipment that will replace facilities in the park that have been in place for nearly 15 years.
It follows a £12,600 grant from the Lincs Community Foundation, as well as funds provided by district councillors Henry Bingham and Jane King.
A group has also been set up to help fund improvements on the park, with them having held a fundraising Halloween family disco.
Mr Jackson said the new equipment had now been ordered.
“We’re really happy to be able to proceed thanks to all the community,” he said. “It usually takes about five or six weeks for orders to come through, but hopefully towards the start of the year we should be getting the new equipment.
“There’s been a long wait and a lot of work gone into this and making it’s financially stable.
“Quadring is only a small village but this will really help it. It’s particularly encouraging that local people have come forward and a community group has started to make even further improvements.
“So not only have we been able to raise the funds for the new play items, it’s also helped bring the community together.
“We’re now looking at what other funding might be available to see where other improvements can be made.”
