LETTER: Relieved over office decision

I feel compelled to write in response to Mr Basford’s letter in last week’s ‘Voice’.
I am a regular user of Spalding ticket office as I travel regularly to London and other parts of the country and have been doing so for many years.
The assistants there have always been most helpful and nothing has been beyond their remit in spite of the fact that there is only one there at any time night or day.
I, for one, am grateful to them and relieved to learn that the office will remain open for the foreseeable future.
The closures in the past are, or have been strike action which is a national issue, or for the staff member to have a day off during the week.
