LETTERS – Don’t celebrate just yet

In a recent edition of The Voice you published a letter from the John Hayes Fan Club celebrating the decision to keep the tickets office at Spalding Station open.
While I have no time for Mr Hayes and his colleagues,, I share their delight at the decision.
However, I wouldn’t crack open the champagne just yet. Remember we are dealing with East Midlands Railways, notorious for their unreliability and incompetence.
There have been several occasions over the last few years where I have visited the station during opening hours only to find the door locked, the waiting room darkened, and the ticket window closed.
Only on rare occasions is there a notice on the door explaining why.
Sadly, I have little faith EMR’s ability to change, whatever anyone decides.
