Show based on local history

A Spalding man is to perform his new Arts Council backed show to the town.

Henry VIII Used To Hate Us is described as being ‘Like Peaky Blinders but in the Fens’.
Created by Ryan Gilmartin, it looks at the history of the local area in a production which includes live music scored by John Dipper who has scored for The Hobbit and Poldark alongside Dave Malkin.
It’s being supported by local charity Transported Arts, a spokesman for whom said: “Henry VII Used To Hate Us is a punky new show with live music, all about reclaiming the Fens local identity through an intimate site-specific experience.”
There are two performances on the evening of Friday September 29, at 5.30pm and 8pm at Ayscoughfee Hall.
The running time for each performance will be around 90 minutes and it’s pay what you decide so anyone wishing to attend can just walk in on the day.
Due to its content, the show is not suitable for those under ten-years-old.
