Goal king Billy shines for resurgent Moulton Harrox

Billy King’s brace fired Moulton Harrox to a morale-boosting 4-1 victory over Riverside in the ChromaSport Peterborough League’s Premier Division on Saturday.

The midfield ace was the star turn in a four-some day for Harrox at Broad Lane, with Danny Cairns and Matt Rose grabbing the other goals.

Moulton’s first league win since October 4 leaves them in eighth place, just five points off third spot.

That’s just one point and a place behind rivals Pinchbeck United, who suffered a 6-0 drubbing at leaders Oakham United.

The hammering is only a second league loss of the season for Ian Dunn’s men.

Also in the top flight, Holbeach United Reserves saw their winning streak ended by a 1-0 home loss against ICA Sports. Jack Briggs got the sole goal.

It’s beginning to look desperate for Crowland Town at the bottom. They’re now six points adrift at the bottom after a 5-0 defeat at Langtoft United. To make matters worse, Leigh Crane was sent off for two yellows.

In Division One, Sutton Bridge United were unlucky to lose 3-2 at home to leaders Coates Reserves. Kieren Lally and Ben Partridge bagged for Bridge at Memorial Park.

Meanwhile, Long Sutton Athletic were thrashed 6-2 at Kings Cliffe despite goals from Jason Powley and James Ward.

Spalding United Reserves top Division Two, but elsewhere Pinchbeck United Reserves beat Thorney Reserves 2-0. Strikes from Aaron Cooper and Liam Lachasseigne delivered the goods at Knight Street.

Crowland Reserves slipped to a 3-1 home loss against Parkside, though.

Down in Division Three, Tomasz Rabiega smashed four goals to inspire Spalding Town to a 6-0 success over Coates B. Martin Sandall and Gary Booth also notched at the Castle.

Stuart Easey was on the scoresheet again for Tydd St Mary, but they lost 4-1 at Ramsey Town.

Holbeach Bank smashed Long Sutton Reserves 6-2 in Division Four, while Robert Gowler, Ray Points and Aron John scored for Sutton Bridge Reserves in a 7-3 loss at Stamford Bels Reserves.

In Division Five, Robert Lewsley (2), Jake Jones, Ryan Howard, Simon Gisby and Marcus Gilbertson all scored as Holbeach United beat Parkside A 6-1.

Luke Baines bagged twice as Whaplode Drove beat Coates C 3-1, while Dale Parnell, Sam Penniston, Adrian Smith and Dean Twaite Smith got the goals for Tydd St Mary Reserves in a 4-3 win at Parkside Reserves.
