Theatre to really dig

A theatre production is coming to Long Sutton tomorrow (Friday, November 11) and it promises to be blooming marvellous.

Theatre group United Artists bringing The Head Gardener to the Market House Long Sutton as part of the Arts Council Rural Touring Scheme.

It’s grown from the seeds set by Long Sutton Town Arts.

A spokesman for the Birmingham based United Artists said: “The Head Gardener spreads the message that gardening is good for you!

“It seems more and more people have been embracing the simple pleasure of growing things.

“Brothers Jake and Warren Oldershaw have been propagating a delightful theatre show that digs deep into the reasons why we could all do with a bit more horticulture in our lives.

“During the performance they’ll design, draft and bring to life a unique and beautiful garden; share fascinating stories of different plants and species; tell personal tales of why gardening is so important for mental health and throw a few songs into the mix.”

Alan Titchmarsh said of the show: “It’s living proof that gardening is good for you.”

The event takes place at Long Sutton Market House at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £10 if booked in advance by ringing 01406 366767 or £12 on the door at the venue.
