Another lengthy road closure in Spalding’s Woolram Wygate to enable further Network Rail maintenance

Part of a busy Spalding road will close to traffic for two weeks next month to enable further Network Rail maintenance.

Residents and motorists are being warned that the section of Woolram Wygate which spans the recently-updated Mill Green level crossing will be shut from Monday, November 10 until Monday, November 24. Pedestrian access will be maintained.

The crossing closed for a lengthy period during the previous phase of the £280m Great Northern Great Eastern line upgrade.

A Network Rail spokesman said: “After the last phase of the GNGE investment work has finished, there are some final works needed to the road which crosses the railway at the Mill Green level crossing.

“This will take place from 6am on November 10 to 6am on November 24.

“Pedestrians will be able to still use the crossing at all times, but a road diversion will be in place.

“We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this causes road users, and thank local people for bearing with us while we finish this multi-million pound improvement to their railway.”

The current phase of work entails road closures in Winsover Road and Hawthorn Bank.
