Stables in West Pinchbeck and a riding group for the disabled have received a total of £30,000 following the dissolution of a charity.

DASH Holiday Homes charity is being wound up and accumulated funds are being distributed to local organisations to benefit disabled people.
Sense Stables has received £20,000 and Riding for the Disabled Association Fenland Group £10,000.

The three trustees of DASH Holiday Homes include Spalding district and county councillor Angela Newton, who said: “We visited the stables earlier in the year and we were very impressed.
“To see the joy and pleasure written all over the faces of young people riding was delightful.
“We are very pleased that our donation will help both Sense and the RDA support disabled people to enjoy the benefits that being around horses can bring.”

The Sense stables are the only ones in the UK entirely adapted to the needs of deafblind people.
The RDA’s Fenland group provides riding sessions for children with disabilities from two schools in Spalding.

Fenland RDA Group chairman Jane Pegg said: “This incredibly generous donation will allow Fenland RDA the chance to consider opportunities in a way never possible before.
“Within that primarily will be what can be done best to give the children we support potentially life-changing chances.
“The Fenland Group of the RDA have been running independently, with great success and stability, for 33 years.
“It relies totally upon volunteers who give their time each week through the summer and autumn school term to support and help children from both the Priory and Garth schools in Spalding learn to ride.”
