GALLERY – Scarecrows help village funds

It was a good year for the scarecrows when more than 40 appeared in Moulton as part of a special fundraising weekend.

Making a welcome return after the pandemic, the popular event saw visitors vote for their favourite scarecrow over the two-day festival.

It was also a record year for the number of open gardens taking part, with 24 welcoming guests.

“It was a really good weekend. We had a lot more open gardens and people enjoyed all the scarecrows,” said Jim Scarsbrook, chairman of the community centre.

The proceeds, as yet unknown, will go to the community association centre and the village hall, both former schools.
