With more than 100 resident birds staying, a Holbeach charity is having a very busy time of it.
Waddles only opened its doors in May of last year, but word has spread and currently the charity is working hard to ensure as many birds as possible can be returned to the wild.
Along with 16 ducklings, who arrived from a variety of places after being rescued from cats, or found alone and vulnerable, Waddles has magpies, sparrows and blackbirds.
And with so many tiny mouths to feed, Cheryl Potts and her family have plenty to occupy them.
“We only started last year and now that people know we are here the birds have been coming in,” she said.
The charity was named Waddles after the first rescue duckling, brought home by the family cat.
Cheryl noticed that there wasn’t really anywhere in the area catering for birds and opened the family home to help more birds.
