Fundraiser for marathon man

A man raising money for a nearby hospice held a coffee morning in Weston Hills last week.
Matthew Mahabadi is set to run the London Marathon later this year for the Thorpe Hall Hospice in Peterborough.
He held the coffee morning to continue his fundraising efforts.
In total he earned £150 in donations, £112 from Coffee and Cake and £38 from a raffle to add to the £1,408 he’s raised so far.
“The weather held out thankfully and a lovely day was had by all,” he said. “We’re chuffed to have raised so much.
“My total raised to date now stands at £1,408 with my target being £2,000 so not much more to go really but still after any kind donations people can spare.
“I’ve seen how important Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall is to the local area.
“The dedication and care of nurses and staff – delivering neurological, palliative and therapeutic care to individuals from all walks of life at the time of their most critical need – made it a very important cause that I wanted to support.
“It’s also the primary local hospice to Peterborough and Spalding and to keep those services going we all need to step up and support them as best we can financially.”
