A Spalding woman who was twice pictured on a dash cam damaging her neighbour’s car, has been ordered to pay her compensation by magistrates in Boston.
Debbie Back, 53, of Albert Street, who admitted causing damage to the car, was said to have been seen on dash cam footage, which had been installed by her neighbour in a friend’s car to try and catch the person who had several times damaged her car.
Michael Cole, prosecuting, said Ms Back was a near neighbour of the owner of the car, and she was seen on the footage scratching the car on March 19 and again on March 26.
He said that when she was interviewed, she said that on the first occasion it had been accidental and on the second occasion she denied it was her in the video.
In mitigation, it was said she had no previous convictions and she claimed that both occasions had been accidental as she had walked close to the car with her keys in her hand, but she did accept she was responsible.
Back was sentenced to as nine months conditional discharge and ordered to pay £150 compensation to the car owner and £85 in court costs.
