Impressive medal double for rising South Lincs Competitive Swimming Club star Kitty

South Lincs Competitive Swimming Club members have returned to the pool following the most recent COVID-19 lockdown – and are once again back into their training programme.

Due to the pandemic training has been severely interrupted over the last 13 months and no competitions have been possible.

Due to this, Swim England launched an exciting new concept where swimmers were able to compete against others from across the country without leaving their home pool.

Level X Racing gave swimmers the opportunity to take part in a series of time trials across strokes and distances and then submit their times to Swim England rankings.

The times posted by swimmers were compiled into a national database and featured on a leader board, with the top three swimmers in each event in each age group receiving national medals.

The South Lincs swimmers were able to undertake a number of races in November and December of 2020 with some very pleasing results.

Kitty Lamb showed herself to be a rising star as she topped the national leaderboard in the 200m freestyle with a new personal best (PB) time of 3.05.68mins in the girls’ nine years age group to take a gold medal.

For good measure, she also collected a silver medal in the 200m backstroke, again in a new PB time of 3.26.26mins.

Emma Croker was also a medallist, claiming bronze in the 100m freestyle in the girls’ 15 years age group – posting her third fastest ever time of 58.05secs.

That was even more impressive considering the swimmers had to race at 6am.
