Pinchbeck United picked up a battling point at Lutterworth Town in Tom Crozier’s first game as boss on Saturday.

The Knights looked set for another long afternoon when frontman Tendai Dare fired hosts Lutterworth into a second-minute lead in the Uhlsport UCL Premier Division fixture.

But Pinchbeck, who handed debuts to new signings Kevin Annan, Reuben Lal, Isaiah Ojo and Kane Auld, showed great character to battle back and level through Patrik Kacirek 17 minutes from time.

The left-sider slammed home from an assist by Mario Neves to secure a second point of the season for the Knights and give Crozier his first point as manager.

Crozier said: “It was disappointing to let in a goal so early and it was a mistake by us that lead to the goal.

“But, bearing in mind this is a new squad and the first time some had played together, overall we were decent and the performance was OK.

“We were happy to come away with a point in the end but also think we created enough chances to win the game.”

Pinchbeck are back in action against Boston Town at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field on Wednesday night (7.45pm).

Knights: Martin, Worthington, Kacirek, Armond, Lal, Auld, Ojo, Neves, Annan, Daws, Krashiqi. Subs used: Dunn, Orumwense.

Attendance: 74.
