Firm’s outdoor gift for school

Pupils at Quadring Cowling and Brown’s Primary School will have an improved outdoor environment to return to this week thanks to the actions of a South Lincolnshire company.

A couple of weeks ago the school appealed for materials and help to relocate a large shed to enable a new outdoor seating and recreational space to be created.

This was to help with preparations for the new term with COVID-19 in mind.

Within 36 hours of first visiting the school, Market Deeping-based Burmor Projects had teamed up with L4 Civil Engineering Ltd and laid additional hard standing and a new footpath.

Burmor managing director Luke Boekestyn said: “My niece and nephew go the school and when I heard that some help was needed with this project I was only too happy for us to help out.

“I know school finances are tight but this was myself and the firm being able to give something back to the community by pulling together the manpower and materials to get the job done quickly.

“I’m delighted that the pupils will have this improved outdoor space to learn in and enjoy, not just for the coming months when indoor space is at a premium, but for many years to come.”

Burmor is due to return to the school this week for some remedial work on the shed’s original base to enable that space to be safely used as well.
