Your chicken fix is coming as new Spalding KFC is on course for summer opening

KFC says it’s hoping to have a Spalding branch open by the summer as work started this week on a new site for the company and a proposed Taco Bell.

Planning permission for the single unit to be shared by the restaurants on the Lincs Gateway Business Park, near to the A16 Applegreen Service Station was granted last July.

The development will provide up to 60 jobs, according to details submitted with the planning application to South Holland District Council.

A KFC spokesman said: “We know that the locals have been looking forward to their chicken fix arriving in Spalding.

“Rest assured, we’re on the case and we’ll be winging our way to you just in time for summer.”

The planning permission included a restaurant and signage for the Mexican themed fast food restaurant Taco Bell.

The Voice has approached the company for a comment, but had not received a response at the time of going to press.

The restaurants were both granted permission to open from 10am to 11pm.

There will be 45 car parking spaces, which includes four disabled parking bays and four large order bays.

Three cycle spaces will also be provided.

Documents submitted with the application state: “The proposed development is for the construction of a new KFC and Taco Bell restaurant and drive-thru hot food takeaway with drive-thru lane, car parking, landscaping and other associated infrastructure works.

“It will comprise of a single storey building including a 3,032sq ft KFC and 2,060sq ft Taco Bell restaurant/hot food takeaway.

“The application submission demonstrates that there will be economic, social and environmental benefits of the proposed development, whilst also demonstrating that there are no physical or environmental constraints that would prevent development coming forward on the site immediately, including highway impact and flooding.”
