Young guns grab medal glut for Spalding Gymnastics Academy at county meet

An impressive squad of 15 boys won a host of medals for Spalding Gymnastics Academy at a county competition in Northamptonshire.

Up against competition from clubs representingNorthampton, Corby, Daventry and Rushden, Spalding earned medals of all colours in age groups ranging from 7-17 years.

For some of the younger Spalding gymnasts, the competition was their first – and they excelled in all of their skills on floor, vault, rings, parallel bar, high bar and pommel/mushroom.

A club statement said: “It was a very exciting day for all of the gymnasts and coaches to see all of their hard work pay off.”
