Who puts the Pride in South Holland?

It’s time to get your nominations in for those who put the Pride in our area.

The Pride of South Holland Awards is returning next year and nominations are now open.

Those that put their heart and soul into helping others will be recognised at a special event at The South Holland Centre on Sunday, March 5, 2023.

First of all though, organiser Jan Whitbourn needs to know those people that deserve to be recognised.

“I am so pleased to be back to normal again without too many restrictions for us to get back to doing what we love, most importantly praising those volunteers who have done so much in the community,” she said. “The standards have increased over the years, the energy, enthusiasm and empathy people have shown has been amazing.

“Working alongside The Voice newspaper these last nine years doing the Pride of South Holland Awards has been a privilege.

“They wanted to recognise the talents of local people and reward them for their volunteering.

“I want to ensure the quality of each event gets better.

“The nominees which have already started to come in are all amazing people who have truly gone that extra mile.

“Please nominate those who have done so much for their charity, village organisation or community.

“I am always extremely grateful for the support I have received over the years, especially by the sponsors who help to make this event possible, let’s get started and thinking about all the people you know who deserve an award for what they have done in your community.

“I look forward to hearing from you all.”

The categories are Caring Neighbour, Service With A Smile, Young Achiever Award, Senior Citizen, Charity Workers, Community Hero, Volunteer of the Year, Special Achievement, Community Sports Group and Local Charity Champion.
