Where there’s a will there’s a way – even at this difficult time

A Spalding law firm is adapting to ensure it can meet the increased need for its services.

Maples LLP, which is based in New Road, has seen a demand in people looking to make a will.

That normally involves signings and face-to-face meetings, but the company has moved to ensure it’s continuing to comply with current government guidance.

As such Maples has developed what it’s calling “through your window wills”.

Maples chartered legal executive Jamie Dodds, said: “We are noticing that the coronavirus pandemic has prompted people to think about their wills now, more than ever, and many people are very keen to ensure that they have a will in place.

“To ensure that we give clients the high standard of service that they expect, whilst continuing to follow Government guidance by keeping our distance, we will take instructions for your wills and lasting powers of attorney via the telephone, video calls or email and we can attend at your home and arrange the signing and witnessing of the documents through your window.

“We will then take the original, signed documents back with us to store in our strong room for safe keeping.

“We do not want people worrying that they have not made a will and that they are now unable to do so as we will do our best to accommodate them.”
