Ward storms back to win time trail

Chris Ward stormed back to the top of the time sheets in Spalding Cycling Club’s first ten-mile time trial of the season.

After a couple of years fighting different injuries, Ward returned to the top with a time of 22:17, pipping in-form Matt Chappell by just two seconds.
Dominic Brand came home third overall and fastest road bike in a time of 22:57.
The battle for fourth was also tight, this week Dan Warner led home Mark Booth, closely followed by Gareth Richards and Nigel Swepson, with only 20 seconds separating the four men.
Evgeniya Brand picked up where she left off last season with a win in the women’s category with a time of 25:15, beating ever improving Samantha Briffett and Louise Southgate.
