Vehicle bursts into flames in Spalding

A car burst into flames on a busy road in Spalding last week.

Spalding Fire Crew were called to the incident right outside The Royal Mail Cart on Pinchbeck Road at around 10.50am on Thursday, October 4.

It’s believed the fire was started due to a fault in the engine.

The driver of the vehicle escaped unscathed.

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said: “On arrival they found a car well alight with the cause given as a mechanical fault within the engine compartment.

“There was 100 per cent damage by fire to one car, no reports of injuries.

“Police dealt with traffic management but I am told there were no road closures.”
