Tydd St Mary FC nets new goalposts thanks to Long Sutton district councillors

Expanding Tydd St Mary Football Club has new sets of goalposts.

Long Sutton district councillors Laura Eldridge and Jack Tyrrell used part of their designated ward budgets to buy two new goals, costing just over £700.

It has ensured that the club’s Under-13 side can continue playing competitive matches this season.
Manager Joe Johnson said: “Over the past year the club has expanded its number of teams dramatically and we now cater for 5 to 13 year-olds alongside our female and male senior sides.

“Jack and Laura’s hard work and extreme generosity has allowed us to get the new goals and also provided sponsorship to our men’s reserve side.
“Without their effort we would have been seriously stuck, so we would like to say a massive thanks for what they have done for us and the local community.”
