Two new Covid vaccination sites

In a boost for the county’s ongoing fight against Covid, two new pharmacies offering vaccinations have opened in Spalding and Pinchbeck.

Broadgate House in Westlode Street, Spalding, is run by Pharmacy2U, and Pinchbeck Library and Community Hub, on Knight Street, is being run by Knight Street Pharmacy.

This means that people in Spalding and Pinchbeck will be able to book an appointment locally, once invited, to have their Covid boosters, either online via Coronavirus (COVID-19) booster vaccine – NHS (www.nhs.uk) or by telephoning 119.

“This is a really positive move for us and provides an additional option for local people. We are delighted to be working with both centres to make this happen,” said Rebecca Neno, director of covid and influenza vaccination Programmes, NHS Lincolnshire CCG.

“Whilst we have vaccinations sites across Lincolnshire, including our two mass vaccination centres at The Lincolnshire Showground, and at PRSA, Boston, we have been working to provide a more local option for people in and around Spalding and Pinchbeck.

“We know there is significant demand for the Covid vaccination, including the booster, and have been impressed by the take-up when we have previously run pop-up vaccination sessions locally.”

Broadgate House and Pinchbeck Library and Community Hub will offer the Covid booster vaccination, as well as first and second doses of the vaccination.

“For booster vaccinations we are asking people to make an appointment online via the national booking system or by telephoning 119,” explains Rebecca. “You become eligible for the booster vaccination at least six months after you had your second dose.

“However, if you are yet to have your second dose, or even your first, it is not too late – we are still offering these at our vaccination sites across the county, including at Broadgate House and Pinchbeck Library and Community Hub.”

Uptake of the booster vaccination across the county has been strong with over 100,000 people having already taken it up.

“This is really encouraging for us and we are so pleased that Lincolnshire people are continuing to come forwards to get vaccinated, to get the best possible protection from Covid.

“If you’re not sure or have any questions about getting vaccinated, please come and talk to us – we will provide you with the information you need to make an informed choice,” adds Rebecca.
