Turn over new leaf with society

It’s a big year for Holbeach Horticultural Society as it celebrates its 25th anniversary and gets back to regular meetings.

The group is returning next month with events and meetings right through to next December.

And it has a new base. Due to other venues being full, 2022 meetings will take place at Gedney Victory Hall in Chapelgate, Gedney.

Events will continue to be 7.30pm on the second Thursday of the month starting from March 10.

The August meeting will be a special visit to the garden of Chelsea gold medal winner Johnny Walkers.

A spokesman said: “This year will be the 25th year the group has operated so we are excited to be returning.

“This year we will meet in March through to December and have arranged for a variety of guest speakers to come along to share their insight on a range of topics

“We also entertain our members with a range of activities such as plant of the month and plant and seed swaps.

“We also run a photo competition with photos on display at Baytree and the winning photos featuring on our annual calendar.

“In August we will be visiting the garden of Chelsea gold medal winner Johnny Walkers to celebrate our silver anniversary.

“Guests are always welcome to come along and see what we get up to.”

Membership is £15 per year for an individual or £25 for a couple while the price for guests to attend meetings if £3.
