A cyclist has raised £1,000 for charity by cycling 150 miles non-stop.
Trevor Corney, of Spalding, took on his own Five Piers Challenge which saw him cycle between Cromer, Hunstanton, Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft and Southwold, where he was met by his brother and support driver Graham.
His mammoth effort saw him raise a total of £1,000 for Alzheimer’s Society and Mind.
After setting off from his Spalding home at 5.30am the 56-year-old, who runs Churchill Ciders drinks vendor, clocked 151 miles in total which took 44 seconds over ten hours at an average speed of 15mph.
“Why wouldn’t you do something like this?” he said of his motivation.
“I enjoyed it in the end and to raise around £1,000 for two good causes in one day is pretty good going.
“I wanted to do something that’s challenging. I thought 200 miles would be too much and 100 miles too few so I went for the 150 as I thought it would be a challenge.
“It went really well and was quite uneventful in the end.
“It was just a case of keeping hydrated and having a few gels and that was it.
“I was looking forward to the pints and fish and chips in Southwold by the end though.”
Trevor is no stranger to a challenge and three years ago biked 800 miles in eight days for charity.
“I like a challenge,” he said.
“I shall look to do something else eventually, as I like something to focus on.”
Trevor has set up two Just Giving pages so people can choose what good cause to donate to.
