Works to traffic lights that will include the closure of Swan Street is now due to start on Monday, February 28, Lincolnshire County Council has said.
A spokesman for the authority said: “Work to update current equipment is starting at the end of the month.
“Improvement works to the signal equipment at Winsover Road/Station Street/A151/Swan Street will start on Monday February 28.
“Works are expected to be complete by the end of April and will see the signals and pedestrian crossings upgraded with new, energy efficient equipment.
“There will be a road closure at the junction for entrance and exit from Swan Street. The diversion route will be along Winfrey Avenue / Kings Road / A151 during construction.
“There will also be temporary pedestrian crossings available during the works to assist pedestrians over Winsover Road / A151 during the works.”
Karen Cassar, assistant director of highways for LCC, said: “The current signal equipment is reaching the end of its operational life so we’re refurbishing the crossings.
“The new signal equipment will be extra low voltage which will reduce the carbon footprint due to the extra low power consumption.
“We thank everyone for their patience whilst this work is carried out.”
