On Saturday, we at Holbeach United take on Vanarama National League North side Worcester City in The Emirates FA Cup second qualifying round.

This will be the biggest game down at Carter’s Park for some years and, for a club like Holbeach, it will be a day to remember.

Having qualified to this stage of the FA Cup for the first time in 15 years there is definitely a buzz around the club.

With each round of qualification in the FA Cup comes a significant amount of bonus income to the club. This income goes a long way to securing the immediate and potential future of the club.

Since getting past Stourport Swifts in the last round the club has had a buzz about it with preparations firmly under way to tackle our biggest test yet. Make no bones about it, this will be a very difficult match and one that we aren’t expected to win.

But this is a match that we will go into with nothing to lose and one where we will give everything to pull off a huge shock.

One thing which would give us players an added incentive – if there was one – is to see a huge bumper crowd getting behind us. And, let’s be honest, everyone loves a “David v Goliath” situation.

The players have earned the right to take on this assignment with no fear and confidence.

If Worcester City have done their homework on us, they will know the red carpet won’t be out for them come 3pm this Saturday.

I know Darren Jarvis, Tom Roberts and the team would love to see you there, so come down and support us on what will be a great day.
