Thanks shown to teaching staff

Parents have shown their appreciation for the teachers supporting their children during lockdown.

Parents of pupils at Spalding’s St Norbert’s Primary School gave teachers gifts and did a mini clap for teachers to say thank you.

Melissa Ford, whose son Noah (7) attends the school, said: “I have always felt the staff there go above and beyond for all of their pupils and families and felt that in the current circumstances they all deserved a little reminder of this.

“I set up a parent group on Facebook to see if anyone was interested in supporting the idea and the money came flooding in!

“We were able to purchase individual gifts for every member of the staff team, a few extra goodies for Mrs Withers, their amazing headteacher, and also a couple of keepsakes for the school to cherish – a large personalised rainbow print as well as a cooking apple tree that can be planted and the blossom enjoyed in springtime as a reminder of how brave everyone was at this time as well as enjoying the fruits in cookery lessons in school.

“The staff who were in school were given a #clapforschoolstaff which for staff and parents alike was emotional but very gratefully received!”
