Our annual Give A Gift appeal has now closed and we want to say thank you for the amazing support we have received once again this year.
Along with members of the public donating gifts, several businesses across South Holland have got involved with the appeal.
Spalding Academy and Giles Academy, which are part of the South Lincolnshire Academies Trust, organised a gifting tree which saw members of staff take a tag from the tree and buy a suitable present, for example for a boy aged six.
Between the two schools they donated a huge amount of presents to the appeal.
Staff at Steadfast Training in Pinchbeck were unable to have their usual Christmas party this year due to the COVID pandemic and instead opted to donate a present to the appeal.
CEO Jason Parnell arranged for 61 presents – one for each member of staff – to be given.
Wykeham Staff Services, of Spalding, also supported this year’s appeal, donating scores of presents which they collected through their own toy appeal.
This year the appeal is more important than ever, with many more families across the district struggling due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The appeal helps ensure less fortunate children aged between three and 14 years old have a gift to open on December 25.
Coun Harry Drury, who founded the campaign in 2011, said: “Thank you so much to everyone who has supported the appeal this year.
“Special thanks to Spalding Academy and Giles Academy, Steadfast Training and Wykeham Staff Services – your amazing donations will help to make children across the district smile on Christmas Day.”
All presents will go to South Holland and Boston Child Services to distribute in time for Christmas.
