Billy King shone as his table-topping Tekkers side beat Division One title rivals Pro Ballers 4-1 in a surprisingly one-sided affair on another rollercoaster night of action in The Spalding and South Holland Voice six-a-side League.
Elsewhere on Monday night, Division Two leaders Puyol Pants Down made it a perfect ten wins from ten after beating FC Barnicols 2-0 at Surfleet’s Glen Park.
The top tier got under way with joint leaders You’ve Got No Fans taking on Univeg Team in what was always expected to be a cracker.
YGNF started the stronger of the two sides and, apart from a brief spell in the first half, generally dominated the game as they prevailed 3-2.
Cameron Walker grabbed his first man of the match (MOTM) prize in the opener.
Game two saw struggling Mirror Signal Malouda draw 3-3 with an equally out-of-form East Europa.
A physical and feisty affair, both sides attacked well as they attempted to boost their lowly league rankings. Reece Snade got the nod as MOTM in this one.
The Squad continue to be the silent assassins of the top tier, going about their job in an unremarkable but highly effective way – and picking up points on the quiet.
Their latest victory was a comfortable 3-0 over newbies Horse & Groom, with Alistair Morgan awarded MOTM.
Tekkers then overcame a potential banana-skin as they beat Pro Ballers 4-1. Star man King was yet again the main man as he snapped up his fourth MOTM award this campaign. Tekkers were never in trouble as they dictated the play, controlled the tempo and enjoyed the lion’s share of possession.
Meanwhile, Polishboroughs’ stuttering season continued as they were left frustrated by a stubborn Simple FC in a 3-3 draw. A sizzling game which saw referee Matt Jackson kept busy, both sides were as evenly matched as the scoreline suggests. Jack Issitt, who tormented the Polish back line, was MOTM.
Division One’s final game saw Evolution stroll to a 3-0 win under the floodlights.
They beat Notinmymums Forest, who continue to suffer with abhorrent form. Adam Brickles was MOTM.
Division Two got under way with Tekkerslovakia securing one of the most eyebrow-raising results of the night after beating promotion hopefuls The TBME 2-0.
Tekkerslovakia, with just their second win of the campaign, will be delighted to have secured victory in this one. Matt O’Brien was MOTM.
Game Two saw Michael Cope score all four goals as Balotellitubbies beat Bowlcut Wanderers FC 4-0 in a proficient performance. Cope, now with three MOTM awards to his name, was in devastating form.
BK’s Athletic then beat rock-bottom Dynamo Kiev 4-0 in a completely one-sided match. BK were always in control as they exerted total dominance, with Luke Russon the MOTM.
Next up, Sarah’s Boys relinquished their promotion spot to Nibblesborough FC after they lost 2-1 to the boys in navy blue. The defeat also handed further breathing space to Puyol Pants Down, who now sit a seemingly-unassailable six points clear.
Harry Ledger grabbed MOTM as Nibblesborough snuck home with the win.
The penultimate game saw Will Kirkham in inspiring form once against as Posh Old Boys beat Mail Carters 2-0 in an entertaining tie.
In what was an old-school clash, Posh started strongly and bossed possession en-route to sealing their win.
The final game saw leaders Puyol beat FC Barnicols 2-0 to keep their invincible run going. The table-toppers have conceded just three goals all season, which is an average of 133 minutes between each goal against.
Finding the net at the other end isn’t proving to be much difficulty either, with a MOTM showing from Nick Wright.
