Tea treat for retiring clerk

Members of Sutton St James Parish Council said farewell to the clerk with a special event.

Lin Pilcher had been working with the council for seven years before retiring earlier this month.

Along with her husband Alan, Mrs Pilcher was treated to a socially-distanced afternoon tea at The Chequers in Weston to mark the occasion.

Bill Harrison, council chairman, said everyone wished her well and thanked her for all she had done.

The new parish clerk is village resident Shaun Thorpe.
