A council tax rise of around £5 a year is on the cards for South Holland for Band D homes.
The district council today launches its consultation on the annual budget and the £4.99 rise could be in place for the next four years.
Spending plans include delivering more than 120 new council-owned homes over the next four years.
Residents are being urged to take part in the consultation ahead of a full council meeting on the issue which is planned for February 28.
“We are in financially challenging times and are under pressure to continue efficiency savings,” said council leader Gary Porter.
Among items in the report is more than £2 million for repairs and maintenance of housing, £2.38 million for drainage boards and £50,000 on grounds maintenance and vehicle replacement.
The final council tax bill for residents will also include a county council bill and money for police.
All responses to the consultation, which can be done via the council website, will be considered as part of the process.
Paper copies of the budget can be viewed at the Priory Road offices.
