Takeaway food vans could be allowed in Holbeach’s parks this summer as responses to a survey on what young people would like in the town begin to come in.
The town’s parish council is consulting with residents over what they’d like to see in the likes of Carter’s Park and Netherfields.
A survey has been launched online and is set to go into schools.
Among potential options being looked into are a modular pump BMX track, parkour equipment, more furniture and skate park equipment.
The survey was launched last week and at Tuesday’s meeting of Holbeach Parish Council it was announced one suggestion was already being followed up on.
Coun Isobel Hutchinson said: “We’ve had a lot of feedback from people saying they’d like a cafe.
“Obviously there’s no space for that but I would like to propose we find vans providing snacks throughout the summer and the weekends. I think it’s something to add to what we already have on offer.”
Coun Kelly Wilson added: “I want to reassure the public that we do listen to what they are saying.
“Unfortunately a lot of equipment, such as a skate park, costs a lot of money.
“We’re a small parish council and don’t have access to major grants other authorities do.
“Hopefully through the survey we can get more ideas to bring before the committee.”
