A16 reopens after morning collision

The A16 just north of Spalding and Pinchbeck was closed this morning (Monday, February 24) following a collision.

Heavy traffic was reported in the surrounding area with the road being closed between the Wardentree Lane roundabout and junction at Surfleet.

Severe delays have also been reported at the other end of Wardentree Lane in Pinchbeck where Anglia Water are continuing works following a burst water main.

A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police said that nobody was injured in the incident.

“We were called to the scene of a damage-only two-vehicle collision on the A16 at Pinchbeck at around 7.35am,” the spokesman said. “A road closure was put in place while the aftermath of the incident was dealt with, and the vehicles were recovered shortly after 9.25am.

“The closure has been lifted.”
