Sutton sign’s spruce up

The sign in Sutton St James has been given a spruce up thanks to a local charity and councillor.

The Long Sutton’s Men Shed carried out the refurbishment work funded by district councillor Laura Eldridge’s ward budget.
When restoring the sign, which depicts the village church and the Butter Cross, the Men’s Shed put inside a USB containing pictures of the restoration process to be seen and enjoyed in the future.
“The sign was completely rotten and desperately needed reconstructing,” she said. “It is so nice to see it back in pride of place in the village and I would like to say a huge thank you to Cyril Jones, Ian Cannon, Ricky Fry and Neil McAlister of the Men’s Shed for their hard work to restore the sign to its former glory.”
