Huddlestone wins Stanley charity title

A charity event at Spalding Golf Club in memory of Mervyn Stanley raised £300 for the Brain Tumour Research charity.
Mervyn’s widow Pauline and his two daughters attended and presented prizes to the winners.
First place went to Danny Huddlestone, who received the winner’s trophy from Mrs Stanley. The trophy was designed and made by event organiser Nev Bingham.
Second and third places were awarded to Bob Duthie and John Keeton respectively.

Sutton Bridge Golf Club’s seniors’ section had a captain’s away day at Swaffham, where an individual stableford competition was held.
The winner, with 38 points, was Steve Adams, ahead of Mark Charnley, 36, with third place shared by Richard Upton and Nigel Ransome on 33 points.
Colin Fawcett won the prize for nearest the pin in two on the eighth hole, while the award for neaerest the pin on hole 16 went to overall winner Adams.
