A Fleet Hargate man has been given a suspended jail sentence for child sexual abuse and making and possessing indecent images of children.
Paul Spector (50) was given a ten-month sentence suspended for two years and a two-year supervision order. He has also been placed on the sex offenders’ register for ten years.
Spector pleaded guilty to one count of sexual assault of a child under 13, one of common assault of a child under 13 and nine counts of possession of and making of incident images of children of categories A, B and C. Indecent photographs of children are categorised into A, B or C, with category A covering the most serious images involving children.
He was also charged with one count of perverting the course of justice.
Spector was formerly a supply teacher in Lincolnshire but also taught at a school in the Oundle area. Police have liaised with these schools throughout the investigation.
After last week’s hearing at Northampton Crown Court, Det Con Spencer Bailey said: “I hope today’s court result helps bring some form of closure to the victims involved.
“Paul Spector was in a positon of trust which he blatantly manipulated. Those who abuse children will be fully investigated and brought to justice regardless of their profession.”
