Surfleet is ready for celebrations

There really will be something for everyone at Surfleet next month when the annual festival returns.

Celebrate Surfleet will be held on Sunday, September 11 from 11am to 4pm and a range of attractions include hot air balloons, a climbing tower, bouncy castle and a martial arts demonstration.

The event also includes a fun dog show and a historic car show with plenty of stalls already booked to be part of the fun on Glen Park.

The entrance fee is being kept at £2.50 for adults with children free.

“Please be generous at the gate so that we can continue to run this popular event; we have to pay for the hire of the entertainment and other expenses such as hiring extra toilets and rental of the park,” said one of the organisers Jill Wright.

“We have lots of surprises planned,” she added.

Refreshments on offer during the event include a hog roast, stone-baked pizzas, ice cream and there will also be a bar.

“Weather permitting we will also have hot air balloons flying and also one for the children to play inside,” added Jill.

The Lincolnshire, Essex and Trent Boxer Rescue is running a fun dog show in the arena with a range of categories to compete in.

Music will be provided by local band BHDC and the Spalding School of Kuk Sool Won will be giving a junior martial arts demonstration.

And there will be the chance to meet some dinosaurs – of the friendly variety.
