People across South Holland have been showing they’re superheroes themselves to raise money for Comic Relief.
One of those heroes was 10-year-old Lola Willson who raised £460 by baking and selling cakes and then shaving her dad Jack’s moustache.
Mum Clare put a message out on social media about who might want the baked goods and was inundated with requests.
They baked 80 different cupcakes, chocolate brownies, cookies, scones and sausage rolls and then sold the rest from outside the family home in Spalding, with all the goodies going within an hour.
Jack also told his daughter he’d let her shave the moustache he’s grown for the last three years if she raised more than £50.
Lola did that easily and removed it with help from Clare live on Facebook.
Clare said: “We are so very proud of Lola and she is over the moon to have raised such a huge amount for a great cause.”
Schools and nurseries asked pupils to dress up as superheroes and as well as the usual comic and film characters, there were plenty of key workers recognised too.
And in doing so they raised money to help charities.
Students and staff at Spalding Academy were invited to wear red socks, red tights and red accessories.
A spokesman for the school said: “Currently Spalding Academy have raised almost £250 which we are all very proud of and thank all our school community that have contributed to this fund raising effort so far.”
