Sunday football round-up: Fosdyke and South Holland make Lincs Sunday Cup progress

Only two Spalding and District Sunday League sides managed to progress in the Lincs Sunday Cup over the weekend.

Table-toppers Fosdyke Sunday and ninth-placed South Holland United are both in the hat for the next round after clinching comfortable wins.

A double from the in-form Travis Portas and a further effort from Charlie Pugh steered Fosdyke to a 3-0 success over The Ferry Boat Inn at Fosdyke Playing Field.

South Holland, meanwhile, progressed from an all-Spalding League clash at Pinchbeck United Sports.

Daniel Whitehouse, Callum Reid and Jack Earnshaw were among the scorers as they won 4-0 at the Castle Sports Complex.

Elsewhere, Jubilee were knocked out of the competition after going down 2-1 at AFC Bailgate.

Goals from Scott Dixon and Callum Willey weren’t enough for Kirton Town Sunday, who suffered a 3-2 home reverse against HBW United at Graves Park.

Also falling at the first hurdle were Mulberry, who slipped up 3-1 at home against Harrowby Sunday.

It was a similar story for Nations United, who went down 3-0 at home to Queen Athletic at Monkshouse Lane Playing Field.

In the one league game played, CSKA Emneth got the better of club mates CSKA Emneth Reserves 8-3.

Callum Elsey, Ben Jimson, Joe Reed and Kieran Hamilton all netted twice for the first team, while Alex Forth and Callum Fendley rounded off the rout.
