Sunday football round-up: Fosdyke and South Holland make Lincs Sunday Cup progress

Only two Spalding and District Sunday League sides managed to progress in the Lincs Sunday Cup over the weekend.

Table-toppers Fosdyke Sunday and ninth-placed South Holland United are both in the hat for the next round after clinching comfortable wins.

A double from the in-form Travis Portas and a further effort from Charlie Pugh steered Fosdyke to a 3-0 success over The Ferry Boat Inn at Fosdyke Playing Field.

South Holland, meanwhile, progressed from an all-Spalding League clash at Pinchbeck United Sports.

Daniel Whitehouse, Callum Reid and Jack Earnshaw were among the scorers as they won 4-0 at the Castle Sports Complex.

Elsewhere, Jubilee were knocked out of the competition after going down 2-1 at AFC Bailgate.

Goals from Scott Dixon and Callum Willey weren’t enough for Kirton Town Sunday, who suffered a 3-2 home reverse against HBW United at Graves Park.

Also falling at the first hurdle were Mulberry, who slipped up 3-1 at home against Harrowby Sunday.

It was a similar story for Nations United, who went down 3-0 at home to Queen Athletic at Monkshouse Lane Playing Field.

In the one league game played, CSKA Emneth got the better of club mates CSKA Emneth Reserves 8-3.

Callum Elsey, Ben Jimson, Joe Reed and Kieran Hamilton all netted twice for the first team, while Alex Forth and Callum Fendley rounded off the rout.
Ben Garner (2) and Antonio Matos replied.

Fixtures (Sun, 10.30am): CSKA Emneth v Mulberry; Jubilee v Fosdyke Sun; Pinchbeck Sp v CSKA Emneth Res; South Holland Utd v Kirton Town Sun; UTF Reds v Nations Utd.
