Stylish send-off for retiring Pinchbeck teacher

A teacher who spent her whole 21-year career at a village school was given a stylish send-off in an open top Rolls Royce as children lined the streets to wave her off.
Glynis Scales was driven away from Pinchbeck East Primary School on the last day of term.
Earlier in the week she had been presented with a “retirement survival kit” from school staff and on her last day received flowers and a camera from pupils and parents, which she will put to good use as she intends to travel far and wide in her retirement, as well as enjoy cooking and crafts.
Head of school Teeny Vayro paid tribute to Mrs Scales, saying she had all the right ingredients of a truly great and inspirational teacher.
She said: “She is truly amazing and the children who have been taught by her are truly privileged.”
