Spalding stock car racer Finn Sargent is celebrating after securing a win in his first outing in his new self-built stock car.
After many hours of work on the car Sargent (21) managed to secure a heat win in his new F1 stock car at Skegness Stadium Speed Weekend on May 6.
Sargent, who is just finishing an apprenticeship with Williams F1, has spent every spare hour he has had coming home to build his new car and to get a win on its first outing was absolutely incredible.
He said: “I’m very grateful to everyone who has been involved along the way and given their time to help me make all of this possible.
“Thanks to everyone who sponsors me and to the crowds that support the stock car racing.
“There were a few little teething problems that I’m hoping to sort as I get to grips with the new car but above all I’m very happy with how it has turned out.”
Sargent raced Brisca mini stock cars aged 10 to 16, before joining the F1 stock cars at 16.
