“Substantial” roadworks are being planned throughout Spalding this summer.
Lincolnshire County Council highways is working on a project to carry out resurfacing in four areas of the town, including Winsover Road, part of which has been closed since mid-December for a complicated sewer repair by Anglian Water.
Notices have been posted around the town advising utility firms of the scheduled “substantial” work between July 17 and September 10.
A highways spokesperson said: “During the summer holidays, we’ll be carrying out resurfacing works on Winsover Road, St Thomas Road, Cowbit Road, and the Halmer Gate/Low Road mini roundabout, replacing parts of the carriageway that are reaching the end of their life.
“We’re currently in the planning phase and details of the timings and necessary traffic management will be released once things are finalised. We’ll be doing all we can to minimise the disruption, which is why we’re aiming to do most of the work during the school holidays, when the roads are quieter.
“The notices currently on site are part of a process put in place to protect highway investments. Once the work has been completed, this area will be protected and utilities will not be able to carry out any routine maintenance for five years. These notices are put out a minimum of 16 weeks in advance of the works so they can carry out any necessary works before the restriction comes into force.”
