Spot-on Pinchbeck United beat Whittlesey to give Moulton Harrox a helping hand

Pinchbeck United did rivals Moulton Harrox a real favour on Saturday as they won 1-0 at Whittlesey Athletic in the ChromaSport PDFL Premier Division on Saturday.

A Tony Edwards penalty early in the second half earned Ian Dunn’s side an away victory at Feldale Field – and allowed Harrox to strengthen their position at the top.

That’s after Moulton won 3-1 at Thorney thanks to goals from Joe Townsend (2) and Billy King.

Dave Panton’s side are now three points clear at the top with two games in hand and have now won 19 and drawn one of their 20 league matches so far.

Elsewhere in the PDFL’s top flight, Josh Ford notched twice as Holbeach United Reserves beat Uppingham Town 3-0 at Carter’s Park. Paul Newcombe got the other goal.

Crowland Town drew 1-1 with Stilton United in the other game with South Holland interest in the Premier Division.

In the ChromaSport UCL Premier Division, Holbeach United’s trip to Leicester Nirvana was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
