Special guests mark rededication

Pinchbeck hosted a very special parade at the weekend for the rededication of the village’s war memorial.

A pipe and drum band joined members of the Royal British Legion and Lincolnshire’s Lord Lieutenant Toby Dennis for the event.
The parade was the county’s annual rededication by the RBL, and marked a clean start for the war memorial.
The parish council recently funded the £9,000 refurbishment of the memorial which was first rededicated on Easter Sunday more than 100 years ago.
The parade met at the Pinchbeck hub before marching to the village church.
A service was followed by another short service at the war memorial which was followed by refreshments being served at the Church Hall.
Along with the pipe and drum band were Union flag standard bearers, councillors, members of the Royal British Legion, veterans, cadets, youth groups and anyone who wished to participate.
The Lord Lieutenant took the salute.
Members of the cadet forces placed wooden crosses on the memorial when the names were read out.
