Spalding stay top despite defeat

Spalding Indoor Bowls Club’s table-topping county mixed league team travelled to Skegness for their third fixture of the season on Sunday.
After a closely contested match, Skegness came out on top by ten shots (81-71) and prevailed 12-2 on points.
Spalding did manage one winning rink, though, which was skipped by David Nunney, with Carole Nunney, George Deaton and Betty Deaton, who won 27-15.
Despite this defeat, Spalding remain top of the southern section of the mixed county league, ahead of Grantham on shot difference.
Spalding have one more fixture before Christmas which is away at Boston on Sunday, December 18.
