Firefighters raised more than £300 in a charity car wash.
Spalding crew members took part in the event at the town’s Sainsbury’s car park and managed to raise £321.34 for the Fire Fighters Charity, despite a late start due to a shout.
Petra Barneveld-Taylor, of Blue Watch, said: “We had a non-stop stream of cars while we were there, managing to raise £321.34 for The Fire Fighters Charity.
“The community were so generous, and had nothing but kind words to share.
“Unfortunately, we did get a callout out Sunday morning, so weren’t able to start the event until gone midday, and we can only apologise to those that showed up earlier in the day to support us.
“In addition, Spalding’s branch of Barclays agreed to match the funds we raised, doubling the amount going to the charity.”
