South Holland trio catch the eye with friendly victories

Three South Holland sides picked up impressive friendly wins on Tuesday night.

Spalding United picked up a 3-1 victory at Boston Town, while Holbeach United earned a fine 3-0 success at March Town and Pinchbeck United upset Bourne Town 4-3.

All of the goals came in the first half of the Tulips’ Tattershall Road triumph, with George Zuerner (2) and Tom Waumsley on target.

Lori Borbely hit back with a penalty for the Poachers, but Pat Rayment’s side continued their solid pre-season form.

Holbeach, meanwhile, bounced back from Saturday’s loss at Spalding to record perhaps their best pre-season result so far against the Hares.

The free-scoring Josh Ford and player/coach Andrew Tidswell were both on target, while Louis Hamilton marked his first start for the Tigers with a goal.

He’s expected to be involved against Lincoln United on Saturday as Holbeach hope to land him on a permanent basis.

Over at Knight Street, Nick Bishop, Tony Edwards, Tyler Wright and Corban Oldham scored as Pinchbeck bagged a fine 4-3 win over UCL Division One side Bourne.

It was a great night for Ian Dunn’s side, who also announced deals to sign ex-Holbeach duo Liam Ogden and Bishop.
