Tulips B now boast a ten-point lead at the top of Spalding and District Snooker League after a 6-0 whitewash win at struggling Holbeach C last Thursday night.
Three of the five frame wins for the Spalding side were secured on the final black, with Darren Woodberry (O28), Martin Deacon (O7) and Mark Wilkinson (O14) all pushed right to the wire.
Second-placed Donington C did also win, but fell two points further back by virtue of their 4-2 victory at Holbeach D. A 22 clearance from Neil Reynolds (O49) was key for Donington.
Services A, who a point further behind in third, also picked up a 4-2 triumph as they defeated Pyramid B.
Both Alfonso Palumbo (O42) and Jason Green (O56) made 33 breaks for Pyramid, but frame wins from Charlie Mullane (R21), Peter Mullane (O21) and Paul Quincey (scr) got the job done.
Whittlesey A are on the move up the table after a 4-2 home triumph over Consti F. Malcolm Bruce (R7) won the final frame to send his side into the top six.
At the other end of the table, Pyramid A gave their hopes of survival a bit of a boost by seeing off Boundary B 4-2. John Twell’s (O14) triumph in the penultimate frame earned them a seventh victory of the season.
Best break in the top flight went to Mark Hubbard (O21). His 38 helped Holbeach A edge out Donington A 4-2.
Meanwhile, Consti B remain three points clear at the top of Division Two following a 4-2 win over mid-table Crowland A. A 22 clearance from Martin Fear (O7) and Mick Johson’s (O35) 30 break helped get them over the line.
Bourne SC A remain hot on their heels in second after beating Pyramid C by the same score. Ian Clare (O14), Carl Gibson (O7) and Michael Byrne (R14) bagged the all-important frame victories.
Ten points back in third position are Boundary A following their 4-2 return at Long Sutton D. Stewart Lilley (R7) rounded off an important win for the Deepings side in the last frame as he dispatched Oliver Turner (O21).
Crowland B are also bang in the hunt for a promotion place, having crushed Consti H 5-1. Derek Tinkler (O7), Richard Neal (R21), Russell Morse (O7) and Jim Howe (O21) did the damage for the victors, who are sitting pretty in fifth position.
At the other end of the standings, Services C bagged a very welcome 5-1 success against Gosberton A. Nigel Cherry’s (O7) 33 break was the highlight, with Vince Fitter (O14), Mark Spiller (O14) and Jordan Philpott (R21) also picking up big wins.
Services D are four points ahead of the pack in Division Three following a 5-1 success against Consti A.
That extended their lead over rivals Gosberton D by a further point, as the second-placed side could only beat Consti D 4-2. Stuart Ruskin (R14) proved to be the key man in that clash, as he edged a final frame against John Cooper (R14) 53-45 to clinch the points for his side.
Boundary C are also going well in third after they breezed past Consti D 5-2. Ash Heywood (R21), Lee Sutton (R14), Andy Whiting (R7) and Josh Aggar (R14) – who made a 25 break – got the job done for the Deepings side.
